INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER - MACHINING OPERATIONS

Summary:
The Industrial Engineer will work in a team environment will have a focus on outsourced operations and ensuring that all documentation is accurate (bills of materials, routing, costs, etc.). DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : - Plan and oversee product routing and/or equipment layout in building metal fabricated products in a production facility.
- Conducts studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial utilization.
- Expedite materials and build schedules as needed to meet customer delivery schedules
- Determine part/process decisions such as make vs. buy or outsourced operations.
- Ensure Manufacturing efficiency and workplace safety.
- Review returned goods for considered product and manufacturing process changes as needed.
- Reports to a Manufacturing Supervisor. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
MUST HAVE REQUIREMENTS: - Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a metal working/ machine shop environment including machining, welding, fabricating, milling, drilling, turning, and assembly operations.
- Experience developing and updating manufacturing process routings
- Experience reviewing engineering drawings and bills of material prior to release to manufacturing and re-submitting markups to engineering as needed.
- Experience acting as a Manufacturing liaison to Engineering and other departments regarding change requests.
- Experience developing and updating product labor/cost estimates as required.
NICE TO HAVE REQUIREMENTS: - A bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field.
- Hands on machine shop experience.
