Class A CDL Drivers (Haz & Tanker) / Laborer
Position Location: Cleveland, OH

Company seeking Experienced Tanker & Hazmat drivers. These are full time, hourly positions with overtime after 40 hours. Some overnight runs are required for this position. Occasional weekend, holiday and emergency response work can also be expected.

This is a physical, hands-on job that may include additional duties other than driving a CMV. Additional duties may include assisting hazmat technicians with use of a pressure washer, confined space entry and shoveling/digging. 

Qualification Requirements: 
  • Valid CDL Class A
  • Valid Tanker & Hazmat Endorsement
  • At least one year (1) verifiable tanker experience
  • At least one year (1) verifiable hazmat work
  • Must be willing to be trained on all pieces of equipment, van trailers, vacuum tanker trailer, roll off straight trucks, and roll off trailers along with super sucker vacs.
  • Four points or less on driving record
  • One accident or less on driving record in the past 3 years
  • No DUI or Felony Convictions in past 7 years.
  • Due to the safety sensitive aspects of this job, all employees must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must also be capable completing company required training course in the SOP manual.
  • Proficient Mathematical and communication skills
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities necessary to perform this job safely and successfully.
  • Drive, operate and maintain Turbo Vacuum Truck, Vacuum Tanker, Roll off or Van.
  • Perform safety sensitive activities to ensure proper loading and transport of hazardous and non-hazardous materials by performing the following duties:
    • Inspect containers to ensure they are in good condition and properly labeled
    • Maintain compliance with FMCSA, EPA and OSHA regulations
    • Load and unload hazardous materials in compliance with Hazmat regulations
    • Maintain paperwork and documentation
    • Preparedness for accident management/spill response
In addition, drivers are also expected to participate in the cleaning of interiors of boilers, storage tanks, industrial processing tanks, kilns, equipment and railroad tanks and cars by performing the following duties: (essential duties and responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned)
  • Drain tanks, connect hoses to water, steam lines and to vacuum vehicle. Pressure washes walls, ceiling, and bottom of various tanks to flush residues such as oils, grease, sludge, and miscellaneous chemical materials through tank openings.
  • Scrape and shovel walls and floors to remove encrustations, miscellaneous chemical materials, and coke or catalyst.
  • Sweep or shovel debris, sludge or miscellaneous chemicals into buckets, wheelbarrows, or down chutes.
  • Remove chemical residues and other liquids from tank bottoms with squeegees or pump and suction hose.
  • Dry tanks with wood shavings, portable air drying equipment, or hand drying.
  • Perform confined space entry into storage tanks, boilers, industrial processing tanks, kilns, railroad tanks and cars.
  • Conduct atmospheric monitoring to determine atmospheric concentration levels.
  • Conduct work in atmospheric concentration levels that would require the use of an air purifying or supplied air respirator.
  • Handle heavy cargo, secure cargo.
  • Drive vehicles ranging from pickup trucks to commercial motor vehicles depending on specific employee qualifications.
