Christian Children's Home of Ohio is seeking a Clinical Director to lead, guide and direct the clinical team (therapist, CPST 1 and CPST 2 and interns as assigned) in each assigned cottage/area in the treatment component of each resident’s stay, this includes but is not limited to, sensory integration work, parts work, trauma themes, post-traumatic growth and resiliency, systems theory, family programming, mental health assessments, outcomes, inventories and data collection, independent living curriculum, individual and group CPST activities, and overall treatment coordination within CRC and each client’s community of origin. 

The CRC Clinical Director will act as a liaison with other CRC Clinical Director, School Program Coordinator, Sr. Operational Supervisors, Cottage Supervisors, Psychiatrist, Campus Spiritual Coordinator, One Heart Stables, TRAC Program, and other cottages to ensure fluid communication is occurring regarding CRC programming and treatment, education, spirituality, safety, and structure throughout the CRC campus reporting to the Director or Residential new programming ideas, changes to an already established system, administrative professional development successes and or concerns with supervisees.

The CRC Clinical Director will also have a weekly productivity expectation of a minimum of 6 hours of individual and group sessions. The CRC Clinical Director ensures that agency vision and direction are communicated on a level that allows every employee to understand their ownership in the success of the agency and that they are a valued member of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:  It is the responsibility of each employee to be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ and to adhere to the Standard of Moral Conduct and Statement of Faith.  Further, each employee is responsible for dealing with others with a Christ-like attitude while helping them experience their worth in Christ, and for demonstrating behaviors reflecting CCHO's core values of Relentless Commitment, Selflessness, and Kindness.

Other essential functions include the following:

  • Makes every effort to maintain a ‘team first’ spirit and atmosphere on campus – fostering and maintaining working relationships with the Operational and Clinical staff within Residential. 
  • Communicates effectively with teams, both verbally and in writing, regarding treatment progress, planning decisions, problems, etc.
  • Collaborates with first team: CRC Clinical Director and Sr. Operational Supervisors, meeting daily for a 15-minute check in
  • Attend meetings, as needed, with CRC Leadership, Senior Supervisors, Cottage Supervisors, Campus Spiritual Coordinator, Program Manager, and Food Service Manager and Director of Residential, etc.
  • Collaborates with other departments to achieve the mission and vision of CCHO by attending the monthly Cascading Messages meeting.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain operational manuals for each program/population/position under their charge.
  • Oversee and direct implementation of all CRC Clinical curriculum
  • Works in concert with Director of Children’s Residential Center & other CRC Clinical Director to ensure that all clinical services provided by CRC meet the requirements of Agency oversight organizations:  COA, ODMH, ODJFS, and insurance agencies.
  • Ensures CRC clinicians in assigned program/population receive state-of-the-art training to provide their clients with the best possible treatment.  Acts as liaison with The TRAC Program to ensure compliance with training, testing and certifications.
  • Ensures that clinicians in assigned program/population are completing provisional diagnosis, individual service plans/updates, clinical notes, discharge, and transition paperwork in accordance with policy and procedure
  • Provide case review and direction. Oversee and attend status meetings.  Provide weekly supervision with clinical supervisees turning in a signed supervision after each meeting
  • Review intake/referrals and admit into appropriate cottage programming for assigned program/population
  • Oversee and be involved with placement reviews and discharge discussions for assigned program/population
  • Oversee and implement PH (Day Treatment) Programming for assigned program/population
  • Assists other CRC Clinical Director and Director of Children’s Residential Center in development of clinical services policies and procedures, systems
  • Provide weekly productivity reports to Director by Mondays 12 pm
  • Oversee the clinical productivity and work with Senior Supervisors/Cottage Supervisors on budget expenditures
  • Represents CCHO effectively to donors, community agencies, churches, and other stakeholders
  • Ensures required paperwork is completed for the HR department (personnel requisitions, status sheets, etc.)
  • Training of new hires into the residential program
  • Recruit and supervise interns to meet budgeted productivity expectations, as needed
  • Meet productivity of 6 hours of individual weekly and a group productivity expectation.

Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervision of all Clinical Staff in assigned program/population, etc., to include CPST 1, CPST 2, and Therapist positions.  Supervision expectations may also include Therapists not assigned to a particular cottage (Art Therapy, Recreation Therapy, etc.), and may also include Clinical Interns.  Provide leadership throughout campus in support of clinical and operational staff.  Will work in conjunction with other Director of Children’s Residential Center, other CRC Clinical Director and Sr. Operational Supervisors to ensure overall safety, accountability, structure and tone of the campus. 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, and hiring; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performances; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field; one to three years related experience, including supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must be independently licensed as a social worker or counselor; supervisory designation is strongly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret trade journals, clinical journals and studies, ethical standards and OMHAS rules and regulations. Ability to write, evaluate and teach appropriate clinical documentation.  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.  Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.  Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.  Use working understanding of DSM V/ICD 10 to provide interpretations of diagnoses, assist in creation of ISPs, as needed.

COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have ability to use a computer, familiarity with Outlook and Word, Excel, and CCHO clinical documentation software. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have valid Ohio Driver’s License and maintain a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:  Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
