Railroad Track Laborer
Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway Company is seeking laborers to work in our track maintenance department. This labor-intensive position requires working outdoors in any weather conditions, all hours of the day or night, at any location on the railroad in Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. This position involves repairing and rebuilding railroad track using various types of power and hand tools. Specific duties will include, but are not limited to, removing and replacing ties, pulling and driving spikes, shoveling rock ballast, loading and unloading equipment and material, and various other tasks as assigned. Vigorous physical activity is required for this position. Employees frequently handle and move track material and equipment weighing approximately 85 to 100 lbs.
The starting rate of pay for this position is $16.12 hr. This position requires obtaining a commercial driver’s license within a 120-day
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
A DUI or OVI conviction within the last three years will disqualify your from consideration for this position.
