ASC Industries, Inc., a leading automotive manufacturing facility, is seeking the following position at its Corporate Headquarters: BUYER. Successful candidates will possess excellent communications, organization and analytical skills. This position requires self-motivation, independent thinking (as well as in a team environment) and excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities. In addition to the aforementioned skills, the position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Coordinating all activities related to procurement of components, beginning with intent to purchase through delivery;
· Analyzing the requirements of the components, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier and date components are needed;
· Evaluating proposals;
· Investigating potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements;
· Making supplier recommendations and communicating decisions to team and/or management;
· Implementing purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations;
· Assuring that the components are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price and quality standards of the company;
· Maintaining timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices and other documents for records retention
· Coordinating appropriate methods needed to distribute components in a cost-effective manner.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
· Bachelors degree in a related field;
· Minimum of 5 to 7 years of Buyer-level experience (automotive field, preferred);
· Experience with MRP systems, knowledge of Oracle Business Systems preferred
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
