We are currently seeking a Process Piping Systems Estimator. Candidate will report directly to the Manager of Estimating
Responsibilities:
§ Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
§ Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work.
§ Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to a particular bid or project.
§ Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids.
§ Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price list, etc.
§ Track awarded contracts as required - may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit, procuring material etc.
§ Incorporate positive interpersonal skills when communicating or interacting with customer, subcontractor, vendor, craft and SPSI personnel.
§ Employ organizational skills that effectively minimize obstacles that negatively impact the project. When obstacles arise, employ sound decision making/problem solving skills to resolve the issue.
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
§ Knowledge of Microsoft software (Word and Excel) is required.
§ Typing and Data Entry proficiency is required.
§ Mechanical and visual aptitude is required.
§ Good math and communication skills are required.
§ Good interpersonal skills and teamwork are required.
§ Knowledge of Microsoft Navision is preferred.
§ Four year Engineering or related degree is preferred.
§ Two to five years’ estimating, cost control, and/or engineering experience (at least four years estimating experience) in a similar industry is preferred.
