Bernie Moreno’s distinguished career as a car dealership owner in Cleveland began in 2005 with the purchase of one small, underperforming Mercedes-Benz dealership on the city’s West Side. In just one year, the reborn North Olmsted dealership earned a coveted “Best of the Best” award from Mercedes-Benz and would go on to win that award for 11 years. Over the years, Moreno would grow his business from a single dealership into an impressive collection of luxury dealerships across several states including, Mercedes-Benz, AMG, Porsche, Aston Martin, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz Vans, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Lotus INFINITI,Nissan, Volkswagen, Buick and GMC. The dealerships are located on 5 campuses in Cleveland and Miami, and they are among the largest and most luxurious in the Nation – designed to make your visit a JOY and NOT a burden. With customer lounges featuring nail salons and staffed coffee bars serving imported rare Colombian blends, our exclusive Auto Spa luxury car wash, pet friendly facilities, and real-time service appointments – you might find it tough to leave our stores.
Moreno attributed that success to a deeply held belief that all client service – especially in the unique experience of vehicle shopping, purchasing and ownership – should be positive, memorable and unrivaled. He adopted the mantra of “above and beyond comes standard” and applied it not only to serving his clients, but to serving his team members as well. Bernie Moreno Companies appears annually on lists of Cleveland’s “best places to work.”
As he built Bernie Moreno Companies into the largest-volume collection of luxury dealerships in the Midwest, Moreno showed a similar determination to serve the community. He embraces his responsibility as a community leader, investor, philanthropist and catalyst for economic development.
He serves in leadership capacities with many local educational and charitable organizations, including the Cleveland Foundation, the Cuyahoga Community College Foundation, the Greater Cleveland Partnership, the MetroHealth Foundation, Destination Cleveland, Young Presidents Organization, and the Fifty Club of Cleveland. He has also served as Chair of the Board of Cleveland State University and served as co-chair of the Opportunity Corridor Inclusion Advisory Committee and as a member of the Governor’s Ohio Task Force on Community-Police Relations.
Knowing that his adopted hometown, like his business, must continue to evolve and to rethink its strategies to remain successful, he is collaborating with scores of business and community leaders to mobilize a remarkable, community-wide effort to transform Cleveland into an epicenter of blockchain technology. The Blockland initiative has the potential to improve the lives of everyone in Northeast Ohio for decades to come.
