Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Recruit and enroll new participants and prepare them for workforce entry.
- Establish meaningful relationships with participants that build trust, motivation, and accountability.
- Assess participant needs, develop skills, provide mentorship, and track progress to achieve individual and organizational goals.
- Engage employers to secure job placements and coordinate work experiences, ensuring ongoing communication and performance monitoring.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, and other partners to support participants.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a roster of program participants, incorporating recruited individuals and referrals from designated eligibility categories.
- Screen and assess participants through motivational interviewing, orientations, and assessment tools.
- Maintain weekly contact with active participants and monthly contact with those in follow-up.
- Deliver JOG’s competency-based curriculum and necessary support services tailored to individual participant needs.
- Coordinate supportive activities that promote self-sufficiency and personal growth, such as guest speakers, workshops, site tours, job fairs, and community service projects.
- Strategize, contact, and re-engage disconnected participants to encourage program completion.
- Participate in work experience programs by assisting with employer and participant recruitment, orientations, and worksite supervision.
- Enter daily model services, monthly follow-up contacts, and job and education attainments into JAGForce.
- Submit monthly documentation (case notes, mileage, time sheets, attainments, etc.) to designated staff.
- Submit quarterly documentation, including exits, post-testing/skill goal attainment, and follow-ups.
- Collaborate with the JOG team to identify the best practices, remove barriers, provide tutoring and upskilling, and locate employment opportunities.
- Use participant data to find trends, measure effectiveness, and improve the program.
- Ensure all activities follow regulations and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Typical work schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 – 4:30pm.
- Local, daytime travel required within a multi-county radius. Occasional travel between other organizational service areas.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online database systems.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in talent development, workforce development, or a related field, demonstrating a strong understanding of program coordination, participant support, and industry-specific needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
- Excellent organizational and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, outgoing, and strong networking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
Additional Responsibilities – Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS):
In addition to the responsibilities listed above, this position may include duties aligned with Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) for students with disabilities, in partnership with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD).
These additional duties include:
- Maintain Pre-ETS-specific documentation and reporting requirements.
- Deliver instruction to small groups (no more than four students) with individualized instructional adaptations.
- Collaborate closely with schools, educational partners, and community organizations to ensure compliance with Pre-ETS program guidelines.
