Dishes By Design Catering in Canton is looking for a full-time lead cook/kitchen manager to join our highly regarded catering team!
This is a full time, salaried opportunity for an experienced cook to lead our catering kitchen in daily menu production, food safety, and showcase skills in food preparation under the direction of our Chef Manager.
Our ideal candidate would:
Supervise kitchen staff to ensure menu items are prepared efficiently and on time.
Coordinate and prepare production of menu items prior to catering events.
Ensure all catering orders are executed on time and correctly.
Supervise staff to ensure an efficient use of labor.
Promote a fair and pleasant work environment.
Be punctual and reliable with a strong worth ethic and team-oriented.
Oversee all aspects of the kitchen in the absence of Chef Manager.
Be ServSafe certified or possess the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
Able to work event based hours that include early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs regularly and standing for long periods of time.
Licensed and able to drive a company vehicle to and from an event.
Possess a professional appearance and demeanor in the kitchen and on events.
Possess effective communication skills.
Possess basic math skills and knowledge of food costing.
Education: Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience: Minimum of three to five years culinary experience.
Must be familiar with cooking techniques, kitchen equipment and sanitation.
Prefer experience cooking for large group.
